About Us

Welcome to ShinyFenders.com your go-to place on the web to see some of the finest rides America has to offer. This site is a compilation of photos taken of rides from around the country. We’ll post our musings of all things automotive from tips on how to care for your ride to what the ladies can do to while-away the time during a car show.

We are a husband and wife that have been car enthusiasts since childhood. Our love for all things automotive spans all makes and models. Our primary passion has been focused on Corvettes over the past few years.  We’ve owned three to date, with the current being a 2012 arctic white Grand Sport. Our first Corvette was a ’68 British racing green Roadster with just over 3K miles on it when we purchased it around 1986.

Our next Vette was a 1999 arctic white Coupe that saw a little track time. We loved this C5 and kept her for near 13 years. She was definitely a sleeper! Al and his buddy took two weekends and put in heads and cam. I will leave all the detailed car guy specifications for him to elaborate on. I just like to get in, buckle up, and squeal like a girl!

We hope you enjoy your visits to our site. At this time it will be a work in progress. We will add pages to it as we go. Al will be adding pages for detailing, pages for events we’ve attended, and I may add some pages for the ladies. We could all use a new recipe or a funny story about our fur kids right?

Check out the page featuring Art and Jan Peterson’s 1969 GTO in the Drag Racing section. Hopefully they will give us more insights into their many experiences in the drag racing realm.

Keep those fenders shiny!

Al & Mary

      Al

      • Many thanks on the cd,awaiting art work for the jacket, when completed I’ll send a copy. I have told 2 of my good friends about your site and are interested. Jack has a ’69 rs Camaro and Tim has a ’69 Chevelle. My ’86 z28 is a work in progress, got tired of walking by it in the garage for 16 yrs. I’ll get some pic’s sent, once again great web site and look forward to car meet. Every Fri. in Loganville at Sonic’s on 78 is a meet with some really class rides.

        Later,Rick

  6. Hi Al,you said something interesting today ,the possibility of getting the Z28 wrapped instead of painted.I’m inclined to the idea, but where to search around to look in Atlanta where the best can be found?

    Rick

    • Excellent question Rick. Google – Atlanta area “auto wrap” or “car wrap” or “auto graphics”. We have a guy in Snellville that does window tint, vinyl strips that can wrap the whole car. I also have a paint guy out in Loganville. Let me know if you need his contact information.
Was awesome to see you driving the Z today. She sure sounds and runs great !

  7. Al and Mary,
