Some PICs from the 2015 Plastic Cars LTD Car Show held on August 1 in Statesville, NC. In addition to a lot of classic cars of all makes, there were a large number of Corvettes from about 5 or 6 Corvette Clubs. One of our Queen City guys took “Top Show Corvette” with his 1960 convertible. In the pictures you’ll see the overall show winner, a souped-up 1962 two-tone Black & Blue Bubble-top Chevy Impala. This beast has a 600+ HP engine sitting in it. There’s also a picture of a ’64 Corvette Coupe that has a BACK SEAT in it. The story was that the seat was put in after the Vette was delivered new by a local customizer shop. It looked really neat. It was a nice (HOT) day. The show drew 100+ cars and had a good turn-out with local spectators. Some of the nicer Corvettes were displayed inside the mall where the show was held. Our ’69 looked nice with the new Hydrographic front air foil (looks like carbon fiber) and the new chrome louvers I installed…I finally got enough guts to drill holes in my 45 year old fiberglass! I used a unibit drill bit and it worked pretty well. I guess I’ll put on that passenger side mirror next…I really miss having one on the car when driving it.
