PIC’s from the Food Lion Auto Fair as promised. I attended Sunday as part of the Queen City Corvette Club’s participation with other car clubs at the fair. As you will see, it was very overcast and rainy all weekend. A lot of the guys selling cars and parts had already packed it in by Sunday because of the rain and reduced attendance. QCCC had 22 cars on Saturday & 25 cars on Sunday so we had a good turnout of Corvettes that some folks don’t like to get wet! The show featured lots of vendors, a gigantic car corral, car clubs, classics, hot rods, exotics, manufacturer’s midway, Kids’ Play Zone, NASCAR Hall of Fame race cars, a Jeff Gordon tribute display, Broncos, Ferrari’s, plus lawn mower and terracross racing.
I had another good show…I got our club’s “President’s Award for the Auto Fair”… This award has no requirements other than it goes to a car that the QCCC Club President wants to recognize. In my case, he noted my participation in club events driving a C3 as if it were a “New Car”….. and at 6’ 5” actually being able to get in it to drive it! Actually, I got a number of nice comments from other club members on the way the ’69 has improved its looks and they all like the side pipes. Our president is an “original” QCCC founding member (1968) and has owned numerous C2’s and C3’…he currently has a C5 Z06, a 15 C7 Z06, and a ’71 454 C3. He admitted that he still loves to see the C2’s & 3’s participating in the shows, lunches, and road trips which turned out to be good for me!
